Saddle fitting for drafts can be very difficult. This is the one place where you do not want to just buy the first thing that sounds like it might work. Please consult a saddle fitter who is accustomed to working with drafts — it's often easier to do a virtual consult with UK fitters, since they've got a larger riding-draft market. The folks over at Chunky Monkey are amazing <3

Having a quality bareback pad during your hunt will help keep that need to "just have something" at bay. Why a bareback pad? Sit on your hands for a moment and feel those seat bones your trainer is always on about — that's what's digging into your horse's back. A ThinLine pad will help protect them and you.

Being bareback on a draft, especially a new one, can be just plain scary, and we get that. That's a loooong way down. Our CorrectConnect neck strap (with extension available) does pair with our ThinLine bareback pad — attaches right to the front D-rings. Combining these gives you and your horse both extra comfort and extra security. I have confirmed these to fit together on Freda.
