Built for driving, and strong enough for draft horses working in harness. The CalmBlue Liverpool pairs a tongue-relief mouthpiece with a Liverpool cheekpiece, giving drivers multiple rein slots to dial in leverage as a horse's training progresses -- from light, snaffle-like contact in the top slot to real curb engagement lower down.
Independently moving cannons keep pressure off the center of the tongue, and a copper roller on the barrel lets the bit glide as the reins engage, encouraging a relaxed mouth. Sweet iron construction develops a mild, sweet taste over time as it naturally oxidizes -- the blue finish shifting toward brown and grey is expected, not a flaw. Requires a curb chain to function correctly.
Mouthpiece thickness: 10mm. Available in sizes 6", 6.25", and 6.5". Not dressage-legal.
